About Angora
History of Angora farming in New Zealand
Since the original ‘Getting Started’ was printed, it has had to be reproduced many times to satisfy demand. When Angoras were first being farmed on a few properties in this country, the farmers managing them were out on a limb, when it came to deciding safe doses of drench, vaccinations, etc. It is to their credit, that they carried on, and with sound stock management practice behind them, learnt to adapt this to the wants of the Angora, who differs to sheep in quite a few ways, but can still be found alongside both cattle and sheep, being complimentary to both.
